INFORMATION

Glenterra Vineyards is located in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, this is a very well established area with the largest concentration of wineries on the coast and has shown substantial growth in recent years. We are in an excellent location close to all amenities including world class private schools, outdoor recreation, shopping and only 45 minutes to Victoria.

Glenterra is an award winning boutique winery with a loyal brand following & has been operating since May 2000.

Thistles Café opened in 2006 and offers fresh, local & seasonal cuisine.

The vineyard is 5.5 acres of organically farmed Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer

and our old block planted in 1992 with 40 unique grape varieties from which we make our very popular Vivace white blend & Brio red blend.

The vineyard can be planted up to 13 acres.

The winery, restaurant & tasting room is 3000 sq' with 2 public & 1 staff bathroom, a separate 20' 20' concrete grape crushing pad, a 30' x 16' patio overlooking the vineyard, a insulated barrel room, kitchen / catering storage room, this has a separate entrance and could be easily used for an extra tasting room or retail store i.e.:winery gift shop, cheese shop or espresso bar etc.

This building was built to full Canadian Commercial Building Code. All architects and Engineers documents and and seals are available for viewing.


OVERVIEW

LAND: 16.77 acres, 5.5 acre organically farmed vineyard, up to 13 acres plantable. Fully deer fenced.


WINERY, RESTAURANT & TASTING AREA approx 3000sq’ , 2 public & 1 staff bathroom, completed in 2006 & built to Canadian Commercial Building Code, all engineers documents with seals available. 20’ x20’ crush pad.

Separate insulated Barrel room. Old winery renovated in 2008 which is now a single garage, pump room for the well, the barrel room & catering storage. (catering storage has a separate entrance and could be used as an extra tasting room or other retail store, ie: winery gift shop, cheese shop, espresso bar.


HOUSE: built in 1989, 2600 sq’ split level, living room, dining room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms 1 en-suite  & fireplace on main floor.

On the lower level is a Family room with extra flue for another fireplace or a wood stove, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, laundry room & wine cellar.

HEATING: House: electric heat pump for heat & air conditioning. Winery & Restaurant: electric baseboard.


POWER: 400 amp service at winery with 200 amps for the house & 200 amps for the winery/restaurant,

240V available in the winery.

WATER: Well is 245’ deep and can produce 75 gallons per minute with a larger pump, produces a constant

20 gpm with a 2 hp pump, new in 2006. Engineered on site water for fire department with storage tanks & hydrant, engineers documents with seals. The well was engineered to irrigate 12 acres of vineyard.

WHITES: Vivace Blend, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, & Gewurztraminer. REDS: Pinot Noir, Brio Red Blend & Merlot
